Sandy and Ilmar — The Night That Started With a Number Plate
Setup was done at Vogue. Everything was ready to deliver the best experience for Sandy and Ilmar.
There was time to spare so James headed around the corner to grab coffees for the team at Vogue and himself.
On the way back, idling in traffic near the corner of the Burwood highway and Blackburn road, a silver Mercedes pulled up ahead. The number plate read I ❤ ILMR.
He took a photo.
When he got back to the venue he quietly asked Sandy and Ilmar if that was their car. They looked at him completely perplexed. It was not.
He filed it away and waited for the right moment.
Later In The Night
After the speeches had run their course and the emotions in the room were still sitting at the surface, Sandy stood up to speak.
When she finished James stepped forward.
He told the room that earlier in the day he had received a sign. A sign that came out of nowhere. He pulled out his phone and held it up.

Matijia is Croatian. He and his father had a specific list of music that had to be played on the night. Not requested. Had to be played. That distinction matters.
Every track on that list was delivered. But James had also reached out to Croatian friends in the weeks before the wedding to source additional tracks that would add something beyond what was asked for. Songs that the Croatian guests would recognise and respond to in a way that a generic search could never replicate. That network knowledge is not something you can fake. It comes from years of performing across multicultural events and genuinely caring about getting it right.
The Croatian contingent felt it immediately.
The same night one of the special effects fell below James’s own standard. Not below the couple’s expectations. Below his.
He ended the contract with that supplier that night. And before Rebecca and Matijia left the venue he refunded them for that element without being asked.

Sixteen Months. One Promise. Never Broken.
When Hannah and Logi originally booked their Vogue Ballroom wedding, life intervened. Their son became seriously ill and the wedding was rescheduled. Sixteen months passed.
When the day finally arrived our Platinum Plus package had evolved considerably. We had expanded the offering, added to the production and improved what we could deliver at Vogue Ballroom. We honoured the original booking price and delivered the updated package in full.
