Wedding games
Are you thinking of trying to make your wedding reception more interactive for your guests? We have a few great ideas that will help you make your wedding memorable. We have performed at a number of weddings where the bride and groom have asked us as the DJ & MC to play games at their wedding reception.
Do you need more help? Check out our other pages dedicated to wedding planning.
Some of these games would be perfect for COVID seated events.
Before you click out of our site please show us some support and give us a like or follow. It takes 5 seconds of your time and means the world to us.
Your support is really needed during COVID.
Dance competitions
This is the best way to really get the crowd going and make your wedding as interactive as possible. When we performed at Frank and Emily’s wedding, they had engraved trophies stating:
‘Frank & Emily’s Wedding dance competition
First place’
This had almost everyone on the floor all night and really made it a unique and fun atmosphere.
With COVID and dancing, this may pose an opportunity for some as some states are allowing one table to be on the dancefloor at a time.
You could have tables compete against each other to make the night more amusing.
Puzzle box
A puzzle box with a gift card inside can be really fun. At Woojong and Jenny’s wedding they had one of these boxes. Guests were only allowed to try to work the puzzle out over 1 song. This is not only fun but it gets people off their seats but it is the perfect ice breaker.
Married mad libs
This is a great way to get everyone on a table talking. When guest take their seats, the MC asks for one person at each table to lead the group in the table’s assigned mad lib. The group supplies random nouns, adjectives and verbs for a mystery story. Towards the end of the night the leader or MC can read out the table-built story as the grand finale.
Advice books
A fun way to get the guests on each table involved is asking them to fill a booklet with questions and words of wisdom. Some of the questions could involve:
What should we do on date nights?
What should we name our first child?
How should we celebrate our first anniversary?
What’s the secret to a happy marriage?
Name the song
This is a fun way to get people to interact on a table. The DJ may play a song for 10 seconds and then the first table to get the song right gets a point. You can tally it up an award a prize to the table who gets the most right.
The shoe game
The shoe game is a fantastic way to make your wedding fun and have a good laugh. All you need is two chairs and two pairs of shoes, one of each shoe from either partner. The MC will ask a series of questions, keeping score with the couple each holding up a shoe of the person that best represents the answer to the question.
